In 2020, toen de wereld stilviel, bracht de Italiaanse band Lacuna Coil hun muziek rechtstreeks naar de fans via een eenmalige livestream. Vanuit de legendarische, maar lege, Alcatraz-club in hun thuisstad Milaan speelden ze een intense en memorabele show. Live From The Apocalypse is de officiële audio-opname van dit unieke concert. De setlist bestaat uit een integrale uitvoering van hun album Black Anima uit 2019, vastgelegd met de rauwe energie die hun liveoptredens kenmerkt.

De muziek van Lacuna Coil is een mix van gothic metal en alternative metal. De sound wordt gekenmerkt door de dynamische wisselwerking tussen de zang van Cristina Scabbia en Andrea Ferro, zware gitaarriffs en melodieuze, soms melancholische sferen.
