Americana on Vinyl

Americana is a collective name for a style of music that includes a wide variety of artists.

In general, this characterizes music that is derived from authentic country, folk and blues with a modern twist . Styles that can be categorized include alternative country, roots music and indie pop influenced by country and/or folk. Alternative country typifies country that harks back to the elemental atmosphere of the founding fathers of country music, such as Hank Williams.

The term roots music describes a slightly broader style, in addition to country, namely also blues and folk.
