Het nieuwe album van A-ha is een verzameling nieuwe songs die zijn opgenomen het uiterste noorden van Noorwegen zo'n 90 km boven de poolcirkel. De nieuwe plaat is de opvolger van 'Cast in Steel' dat in 2015 werd uitgebracht. Tegelijk met de nieuwe plaat wordt ook een bijzondere film uitgebracht van A-ha, het toont het opnameproces van 'True north' in Bodo de hoofdstad van de provincie Nordland, Bodo is in 2024 de Culturele hoofdstad van Europa.
