Bob Irwin is vooral bekend als het brein achter het befaamde reissue-label Sundazed Music. Op Throwaway Age stapt hij zelf de studio in met zijn band The Pluto Walkers. Het resultaat is een verzameling authentieke instrumentals die diep geworteld zijn in de surf- en garagerock van de jaren zestig. De nummers variëren van energieke, twangy gitaartracks tot meer obscure, filmische sfeerstukken. Opvallend zijn ook de bijdragen van El Futuro Sonidos, die een extra mysterieuze laag aan het album toevoegen.

Een mix van instrumentale surf en rauwe garagerock, met invloeden die doen denken aan het werk van bands als The Ventures en The Sonics.
