      American singer, guitarist and songwriter Tony Joe White has passed away. He died suddenly on Wednesday at the age of 75 at his home in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee, his family has announced.

      During his career, White made many songs, which were recorded by such greats as Elvis Presley, Dusty Springfield, Brook Benton, Ray Charles and Tina Turner. White also scored hits himself.

      Polk Salad Annie is one of his most famous albums. Groupy Girl en Good In Blues also achieved listings in the Dutch charts.

      White released his latest album last month: Bad Mouthin'.
