Jack Poels, known as the front man of Rowwen Hèze, comes with a first solo album
The record will be released March 26, 2020 on Snowstar Records. The independent label Snowstar from Utrecht has been releasing quality indie and Americana music from artists such as I am Oak, Kim Janssen and broeder Dieleman for 16 years.
Jack Poels (62, America, North Limburg) is known as the singer/guitarist of Rowwen Hèze (founded in 1985). After thirty-five years of highlights (awards, international festivals, tours and an oeuvre full of hits, no less than seven of which were listed in the Top2000 this year, coming from 23 albums that together sold almost a million copies), Jack Poels will present his very first solo album. He is assisted live by Jan Hendriks (Doe Maar) and Bart Jan Baartmans. The accompaniment is small, which makes the poetic texts glow even more and shed light on the sometimes dark roads of life.
The album 'Blauwe Vear' contains 12 Dutch/Limburg-language ballads, which breathe wisdom, paint fields of color and bear witness of sincerity. Songs that will thrill fans of Rowwen Hèze's quiet work. Blue Vear is a candid album full of understated Americana music with small words about big emotions. No polka or tex-mex, but melancholy and melancholy; acoustic listening songs of a man with a guitar and a story.
